If your environment isn’t a good fit for you—and you feel it every day
Sometimes, everyday life just feels like a struggle. You do your best, contribute ideas, but it seems as though you’re running into invisible walls. Perhaps you feel constrained by rigid structures, or misunderstood in an environment that operates differently than you do. You manage to get by anyway – but something is constantly causing friction.
This is often not due to a lack of competence or motivation, but rather to differing value systems. When your personal values don’t align with the culture of your environment, internal tensions arise that become a burden over time. Profile Dynamics® helps bring these values and motivations to light
Here’s an example of what that might look like.
You value creative freedom, personal responsibility, and flexible structures. But your company focuses on clear rules, fixed processes, and control. While you need the freedom to be creative, your work environment feels like it’s bound by rigid limits.
Such contrasts often lead to feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or withdrawn – without you being able to pinpoint the cause right away. But once you understand what truly drives you, new possibilities open up: conscious adaptation, targeted changes, or an open conversation with those around you. Suddenly, there are paths that weren’t visible before.
What is Profile Dynamics®?
Profile Dynamics® is a scientifically grounded analytical method based on Clare W. Graves’ research on motivation and values. It reveals your individual motivations, values, and ways of thinking – and, in doing so, also brings to light what often creates tension beneath the surface.
The foundation is Clare W. Graves’ Theory of Levels of Human Existence: It describes how people and societies develop different values during different stages of life in order to overcome new challenges. Each value system emerges in response to the limitations of the previous one. The focus of these levels shifts – sometimes community and belonging are the priority, other times independence and self-actualization.
The model has been refined through numerous scientific studies and is now an established framework for understanding personal and organizational dynamics.
The Seven Value Levels of Profile Dynamics®
Every person possesses these seven levels to varying degrees. Which ones are particularly strong in you and which ones tend to remain in the background shape your style—and your areas of conflict:
- Purple (Security & Belonging):
Community, tradition, and harmony take center stage. Decisions are made based on a sense of belonging. - Red (Power & Assertiveness):
Dominance, drive, and the pursuit of short-term success. Self-assertion and immediate results are the goal. - Blue (Order & Structure):
Discipline, responsibility, and rules provide security. The focus is on clarity, processes, and stability. - Orange (Success & Performance):
Innovation, competition, and goal orientation. Entrepreneurial thinking and measurable results are sought. - Green (People & Harmony):
Empathy, equality, and collaboration. People are at the center, and team spirit is a core value. - Yellow (Knowledge & Flexibility):
Personal responsibility, learning, and creative problem-solving. Thinks systemically and combines knowledge with flexibility. - Turquoise (Holism & Sustainability):
Global responsibility, interconnectedness, and sustainability. The big picture and sustainable solutions serve as the frame of reference.


Understand. Recognize. Shape.
In systemic coaching with Profile Dynamics®, I guide you in gaining a deep understanding of your inner drives. Before our session, you’ll receive an online questionnaire that reveals your individual motivations, needs, and potential resistance.
During our session together, we’ll examine your personal values profile in detail. Which values are particularly strong in you – your “Expression”? Where might there be internal blockages or resistance – your “Opposition”? We’ll analyze how these dynamics manifest specifically in your everyday life: in stressful situations, when interacting with others, during change processes, or when making decisions.
Based on this, we’ll develop concrete new strategies that are tailored to you. This will help you discover how to better handle stressful situations – or whether a conscious change in behavior or environment is the right step.
Profile Dynamics® is also available independently of coaching.
You can also book the values analysis with Profile Dynamics® on its own, without committing to a longer coaching process. You’ll gain valuable insights into your personal motivators – and then decide for yourself whether and how you’d like to explore these insights further.
